About Us

Our Mission

We align people and processes to the mission of the organization so everyone can thrive.

Our Vision

Every small business has a right-sized HR framework to protect the business, care for its people, and advance its mission.

Core Values

Our values shape how we work, how we serve, and how we show up for one another and our clients.

Teamwork

We work better together—within Liberty and alongside you.

Relational Service

The better we know you, your business, and your people, the better we can serve you.

Authenticity

We show up honestly. We won’t pretend to be something we’re not—with each other or with you.

Stewardship

We take responsibility for our work, honor your mission and your people, and share the credit.

Humility

We are confident in what we know, honest about what we don’t, and never afraid to say so.

VALONDA BANKS

Owner & Chief Strategist

Valonda Banks has spent her career helping leaders see what is really happening inside their organizations—and what to do next. Since 1997, she has built and led teams in corporate America and small businesses across restaurants, healthcare, professional services, and the trades. Her experience has reinforced one simple truth: caring for people is universal, but how you do it must be shaped by the business, its people, and its mission. Inspired by John 8:32, Valonda creates clarity through truth so leaders can make freeing choices for their organizations and their people. As Liberty’s Owner and Chief Strategist, she brings practical guidance, honest conversations, and a little lightness to the often unnecessarily heavy world of HR—because she believes small businesses matter deeply and may just be the ones that save America.

JEREMY BANKS

Partner & Business Development

Jeremy has a rare ability to see people, situations, and the details others might miss. Incredibly discerning, he asks thoughtful questions—often one after another—until he reaches the heart of what really matters. While Jeremy serves full-time as the School Security Officer at their daughter’s school, he remains an important part of Liberty’s leadership and business development. His perspective helps the team look beneath the surface, challenge assumptions, and stay grounded in what is true.

Our Team

Katie Jones

EBS Project Manager

Katie is thoughtful and inquisitive, always wanting to make sure she understands the purpose and why behind decisions that are being made or a product that is being offered to clients. She strives for excellent relational service and thrives in the encouraging and positive work environment that makes Liberty what it is. She loves to help our clients win and hustles to keep projects moving forward.

Ed Feeman

Efficiency and Process Overlord

No one knows our systems like Ed. Ed always brings a unique perspective to the challenges we face as an organization along with options for a solution. He’s the one behind the scenes pushing all the buttons, making sure the correct levers are pulled, and fixing the parts of the process that the rest of us break.

Fun Fact: Ed is a huge fan of animals and insects. Do you want to get on Ed’s good side? Tell him a story about how you helped a stink bug escape the confines of your home unscathed.

Partners in Life, Business, and Mission

Valonda and Jeremy don’t make much sense on paper. She’s a dog-loving Eagles and Duke fan; he prefers cats, the Ravens, and UNC. Yet somehow, it works. They agree on the things that matter most—Jesus, their family, and the belief that small businesses are worth fighting for.

The People Behind the People Insurance

There are good people behind every good people strategy. Behind each assessment, job advertisement, process, training, and hard conversation is a Liberty team member who cares about getting it right—for your business, your mission, and your people.

Our team is growing, and we look forward to introducing you to more of the people behind Liberty soon.
